WHALE WATCH

FALL PICNIC

Come join new friends and old to celebrate the start of the 2021 school year. The Bradley Hills PTA is hosting a back to school party on September 11, 2021 at Bradley Hills from 5-7pm. Activities will include food trucks, inflatables, raffles, a dunk tank, tie dye, face painting and more. Let's kick off this school year with a celebration! Check out the flyer HERE! Food truck purchases will be available with cash or credit; all event tickets cash only. Tie-dye t-shirts available for $10 per t-shirt with proceeds benefiting the BHES PTA.

EARN SSL HOURS

The PTA is looking for 20 middle or high school students to earn student service learning (SSL) hours by staffing the BHES Back to School Picnic.  Volunteers must be available from 4:30-7:30pm on Saturday, September 11.  Sign up here and the organizers will send details to the first 20 volunteers.

FLEX ACADEMY REGISTRATION

The after school class schedule is available NOW!  See the flyer below to view the exciting options being offered!  Make your choices and get ready; registration will open September 15.  More details on how to register coming soon.  Email laurel.keating@gmail.com with questions.  See the flyer HERE!

BOOK FAIR

The BHES PTA Book Fair is happening from September 17th through the 23rd. This fair's theme is "A Whale-y Good Time to Read". We have contests and fun planned to celebrate!  Due to Covid-19 considerations, we're running things a bit differently than in years past.

All in-person shopping will be done by students, during their classroom visits.  Unfortunately, non-volunteer parents will not be able to physically shop at the fair, but still may do so online through this link: ONLINE SHOPPING

Want to help out with the fair? We're seeking (preferably, fully Covid-19 vaccinated) volunteer parents to help staff the fair for set-up, class visits, and pack-up.  Please see this sign-up genius link to help! SIGN UP

Another way to help is to purchase books for classroom libraries. Books chosen by our teachers will be available for purchase at the fair!

The easiest way to help is to purchase books, either online or during September 17 - 23!  Scholastic rewards a generous percentage of our sales back to us as Scholastic Bucks, which are used to purchase books for our media center and classrooms.  More than one of our recent in-person fairs provided over $5000 worth of books, each, to our school, purchased with our rewards!

E-Wallets are an easy way to send your child to the fair with money in an online account, where it can't be lost.  Please visit our fair homepage above to set one up for your child before their class visits.  Please note that funds added to an E-wallet that aren't used will be available for use at scholastic online and/or at a later BHES PTA Book Fair, but will not be refunded - this is a change from last year.

PTA VOLUNTEER TRAINING

All volunteers and room parents, please join us on Wednesday 9/8 at 7pm for an online training where you’ll receive information about policies for in-school volunteering. A Zoom link will be emailed in advance of the meeting.

MORE ROOM PARENTS NEEDED

Many thanks to the dozens of volunteers who have signed up over the past week to serve as classroom volunteers! We're getting closer to having a full slate of room parents for the school year, but the classes below still need support. The highlighted classes currently have no room parents at all. Please sign up to assist these teachers and ensure your child's class has a fun-filled year.

JUST IN CASE CLOTHING DRIVE

Accidents happen, and sometimes students soil or wet their clothes at school, and the school administration helps them change into something more comfortable. We are asking for gently used clothing donations of varying sizes to keep at school for these emergencies. There is a bin in front of BHES, and we thank you for your contributions! The most needed items are: unisex sweat pants, socks, and unisex shirts for grades K-2.  Anything that the school administration does not use may be donated to Weller Road.
