VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR FIELD DAY FOR 3RD-5TH GRADE

Bradley Hills will have its annual Field Day on Friday, May 24, 2024. The primary focus of Field Day is FUN. We want students to get out, move around and celebrate the skills they have worked on in PE this year. The success of Field Day depends on people like you volunteering to help! We need help from parents and guardians to run stations and help students have an amazing experience. We'd got enough volunteers for K-2nd, but still need some more for 3rd-5th grade!

The morning scheduled activities will be held from 9:30 to 1:30 p.m. Coach Anderson's goal is to have enough parents to run each of the stations and have BHES staff there to support the groups of students. If you are able to volunteer some of your time, please use the link to the Sign Up genius (CLICK HERE). If you would like to volunteer the whole day, please sign up in the 9:30-11:30 slot AND the 11:30 - 1:30 slot.

JULY/AUGUST BIRTHDAY BASH (FRI, MAY 31)

Calling all July and August birthdays!! The final Birthday Bash of the school year will be held on Friday, May 31st for all July and August birthdays! Students with July and August birthdays will come to the APR from 2:30 pm - 3 pm to enjoy cupcakes and Birthday Bingo! 

We will need 8 volunteers/parents to help us set-up and clean up the Birthday Bash from 2:00 pm to 3:25 pm in the APR. All Bash supplies are provided by the PTA. If your child has a July or August birthday and you have completed the volunteer requirements, please sign up here to volunteer. Nut-free cupcakes will be served. If your child has an allergy of concern please send them with a snack to enjoy at the Bash.

BHES OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT (MINIONS - MAY 31st, BHES SOCCER FIELDS)

The new date for our annual Outdoor Family Movie Night is Friday, May 31st! Please join us on the BHES soccer field under the stars for a showing of Minions: Rise of Gru. The field opens at 7:00pm and the movie starts at dark around 8:15pm. No tickets necessary so bring your family and friends, a picnic blanket or chairs and enjoy time with our wonderful BHES community.  

If you would like to pre-order Potomac Pizza for May 31, you can do so via A to Z connect: https://bhespta.membershiptoolkit.com/store/14464. The deadline to order is Friday, May 24. (If you ordered pizza for May 10 and would like to keep that order for May 31, no need to do anything, we have your order registered. No pizza will be sold at the event.) Pizzas will be delivered around 7:30pm.

Kona Ice will be here for a sweet treat too!

NEED TO REGISTER FOR KINDERGARTEN? DON'T DELAY!

Do you have a child that will be enrolling at Bradley Hills ES for the first time this coming Fall? Have friends or neighbors with kids who will be starting?

To ensure we have adequate staffing for next year, please be sure to register your child now! If you have neighbors who have school aged students, be sure to remind them to register!

Parents should register their students through ParentVue.

INCOMING KINDERGARTENER PLAYDATES

Do you have an incoming Kindergartener? If so, please join us on the small playground at BHES for snacks, playtime, and introductions to other new students joining BHES in the fall! There are four playdates currently scheduled: 

• Thursday, May 30th @ 4pm
• Saturday, June 22nd @ 10am
• Sunday, July 28th @ 10am
• Saturday, August 25th @ 10am

BHES ART SHOW COMING UP JUNE 6TH 

Mark your calendars for the BHES Art Show, Thursday, June 6th from 7:00-8:00pm in the All Purpose Room! Students are welcome and encouraged to present their creative achievements by submitting up to two pieces in any media. Start working on those masterpieces now!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PTA COMMITTEES

A HUGE thank you to the more than 70 volunteers who have stepped up or are returning next year to fulfill our PTA roles and committees!! And thank you to those that have stepped up in the last few days! 

In order to continue the many great events, activities, and supports the PTA provides BHES students - we still need some volunteers for the following committees: Membership 411, Back-to-School Picnic, Movie Night, Green Team, CUPF Room Bookings.

During our PTA General meeting on May 7, we heard from Moms Demand Action and learned about its Be SMART initiative. The BHES PTA is committed to promoting an enriching and supportive climate where all members of the BHES community feel safe, seen, and respected. The PTA -- primarily through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee -- works to advance this goal through the following means: dissemination of educational resources for parents/guardians; organization and facilitation of Heritage Night as well as other events and small-group community conversations to help parents/guardians explore their family identities and issues of bias; financial support of assemblies and other in-school programming to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals; and collaboration with school administration, teachers, and staff on development of materials to supplement teacher lessons on anti-bias and commemorative months. The PTA's DEI Committee welcomes input from all members of our community about how we collectively work to prevent and respond to hate-bias incidents within our community.
