BHES COMMUNITY MEETING (AUG 27, 6:30-7:30PM, BHES APR)
Jewel Sanders, the MCPS Director of Office of School Support and Improvement, will meet with families in the APR to provide an opportunity to give input and share feedback on the characteristics you seek in a new principal. She also will be working with school staff and the PTA to select a group of individuals to join her as members of the interview panel. At the meeting, she will explain the selection process in greater detail and will communicate the timeline of activities leading up to the Board of Education appointment of the new principal. We expect to have a new principal before October 1, 2024.
SUPPORT YOUR PTA
Don't forget to join the PTA this school year! We manage activities and support for all students at BHES and rely on membership dues each year to fund this work. Our goal is to have 100% membership this year.
We are also still looking for a few more PTA volunteers (huge thanks to the dozens of parents who have already volunteered to help!). ROOM PARENTS AND ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
Thank you to the many parents/guardians who have already signed up to be room parents! Almost all of our classes have an adequate number of volunteers but if anyone still has a strong desire to sign up for a class, please fill out the form at this link. (Note that 5th grade parents work together across the grade to organize all 5th grade activities)
Please note that there will be other opportunities to volunteer at the school throughout the year. Updated sign-up information for Lunch/Recess and Media Center volunteers will be available in subsequent Weekly Whales!

BRADLEY 411 (SEPT 17, 6:30-8:00PM)
Do you want to connect with the PTA board and meet other parents from our school? How about learning about volunteer opportunities? Bradley 411 is a great way to connect in a relaxed adult-only setting and get the information you need and meet like-minded parents at BHES. Even if you have been at BHES for a few years, this is a fun event to meet new parents so come join us! We look forward to seeing you!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL CARNIVAL (SEPT 14, 5-7PM - PRE-ORDER PIZZA AND CALL FOR SSL VOLUNTEERS)
Come join new friends and old to celebrate the start of the 2024/25 school year. The Bradley Hills PTA is hosting a back-to-school carnival on September 14th from 5-7pm! We'll have tons of fun activities including inflatables, raffles, a dunk tank, face painting, food trucks (shaved ice, empanadas) and more! Please note that this is a cashless event.
