ICE CREAM NIGHT AT MIMI'S TO SUPPORT OUR SISTER SCHOOL (MAY 14, 12-9PM)

Join us on Wednesday, May 14 from 12–9 PM (open to close) at Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream (12274 Rockville Pike, Suite E, Rockville, MD 20852) and treat yourself to something sweet for a great cause!

20% of all proceeds will be donated to support Weller Road Elementary School (WRES) and the MCPS Educational Foundation.

BHES ART SHOW - CALLING ALL ARTISTS! 

The BHES Art Show is Thursday, May 22 from 7:00-8:00 pm in the All Purpose Room! Students are welcome and encouraged to present their creative achievements by submitting up to two pieces in any media. Bring your artwork to the APR on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday – May 14, 15, & 16 between 8:45–9:10 AM. Remember to include a display card with each piece!

JULY/AUGUST BIRTHDAY BASH! (MAY 30, 2:30-3:00PM, APR)

Calling all July and August birthdays!! Students with Summer birthdays will come to the APR on Friday May 30, 2025 from 2:30 pm - 3 pm to enjoy cupcakes and Birthday Bingo! 

We will need 8-15 volunteers/parents to help us set-up and clean up the Birthday Bash from 2:15 pm to 3:25 pm in the APR. All Bash supplies are provided by the PTA. If your child has a July or August birthday and you have completed the volunteer requirements, please sign up here to volunteer. 

Nut-free cupcakes will be served. If your child has an allergy of concern please send them with a snack to enjoy at the bash.

BHES OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT (MAY 30th, BHES SOCCER FIELDS)

Our annual Outdoor Family Movie Night is coming up on Friday, May 30th! Please join us on the BHES soccer field under the stars for a showing of The Wild Robot. The field opens at 7:30pm and the movie starts at dark around 8:15pm. Bring your family and friends, a picnic blanket or chairs and enjoy time with our wonderful BHES community.  

Potomac Pizza and candy will be available for pre-order through Monday, May 26 on AtoZ at Movie Night 2025. No pizza or candy will be sold at the event. Kona Ice will be here for a sweet treat too!

The BHES PTA is committed to promoting an enriching and supportive climate where all members of the BHES community feel safe, seen, and respected. The PTA -- primarily through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee -- works to advance this goal through the following means: dissemination of educational resources for parents/guardians; organization and facilitation of Heritage Night as well as other events and small-group community conversations to help parents/guardians explore their family identities and issues of bias; financial support of assemblies and other in-school programming to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals; and collaboration with school administration, teachers, and staff on development of materials to supplement teacher lessons on anti-bias and commemorative months. 

The PTA's DEI Committee welcomes input from all members of our community about how we collectively work to prevent and respond to hate-bias incidents within our community.
