SPOUT OUTS!

Spout out to all of the brave 4th and 5th graders who competed in the Spelling Bee, and a special spout out to Juliet Heltzer (Champion) and Arya Ahmed (Runner-up) for surviving six tough rounds in the School Bee! Juliet will represent BHES at the upcoming regional Spelling Bee on March 12 at Landon School, and we will all be rooting for her success! Thanks to all of our classroom bee volunteers (Golriz Chrostowski, Colleen Fahey, Claire Heffez, Gillian Malpass, Lauren Murphy, and Cristina La Rocca Wynn), to Ms. Kemp for serving as a judge at the School Bee and for being the spellers’ #1 fan, and to all of the parents, caregivers, family members, teachers and friends who showed up to cheer on our spellers!

Big thanks to our extraordinary Variety Show directors Leif and Liz Nelson for their amazing dedication and enthusiasm and to Committee Members Ashley Cohen, Lauren Murphy and Nam Rastogi for making this show possible! A big thank you to our awesome backstage parent crew Maria R. Curtin, Sandra Garcia, Meghan Gudelsky, Michael Malmberg, and Dave Mathison and ticket support Gabby Kearney and Laura Lay

A huge round of applause for all our incredibly talented BHES students who participated in the show! What an amazing night for our BHES community!

NOW AVAILABLE - TEACHER & STAFF AMAZON WISH LISTS!

The PTA is excited to launch our new Amazon Wish List Program! In last fall’s PTA survey, many families shared that they’d love additional ways to directly support classrooms — and we heard you.

Beyond county supplies and PTA funding, teachers often need additional enrichment items. This program offers families a voluntary way to help.

Teachers and staff have created Amazon Wish Lists that are now posted on the BHES PTA website. When you purchase an item, it ships directly to the school — ensuring teachers receive exactly what they need, and families can see the tangible impact of their support.

Visit BHESPTA.com and click the header “Teacher Wish Lists”:
https://www.bhespta.com/teacher-wishlists

Keep checking back - new lists and classrooms are being added regularly! And if you don't see a teacher, feel free to reach out to them directly and encourage them to create a list of their own.

MARCH BIRTHDAY BASH! (MARCH 13, 2:30-3:00PM, APR)

Calling all March birthdays! Students with March birthdays will come to the APR on Friday March 13th from 2:30 pm - 3:00pm.

We will need 15 volunteers/parents to help us set-up, help run the activities, and clean up the Birthday Bash from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm in the APR. All Bash supplies are provided by the PTA. If your child has a February birthday and you have completed the volunteer requirements, please sign up here to volunteer.

Nut-free cupcakes will be served. If your child has an allergy of concern please let us know 48 hours before or send them with a snack to enjoy.

THE PTA IS HERE FOR YOU

The BHES PTA is committed to promoting an enriching and supportive climate where all members of the BHES community feel safe, seen, and respected. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee works to advance this goal through educational resources, community conversations, in-school programming, and collaboration with school and county staff. Our focus this year is the Speak Up Strategies to empower our community, students and adults alike, to be upstanders in the face of hate and bias.

The PTA's DEI Committee welcomes input from all members of our community about how we collectively work to prevent and respond to hate-bias incidents within our community. If you are interested in sharing feedback, or joining the DEI Committee, please contact DEI Committee Co-Chairs Nausheen Noor and Kathleen Foster at klubey@gmail.com
