SUBJECT: Weekly Whale - April 27, 2026

SPOUT OUTS!

This Whale is all about gratitude (Spout Outs) and looking ahead (Upcoming Event)! Here's a late splashdown.

Big thanks to Elizabeth Burch, Sarah Brody, Cara Pugliese Reiter, Tessa Hicks, and Karen Dyer for organizing such a wonderful Bradley Beautiful event—it truly brought the community together. And thank you to the entire Green Team for leading the charge on keeping our school clean, supporting recycling, and building great habits for our kids!

Spout out to Ana Soriano, who was awarded a Support Services Excellence Award for her work as BHES Building Service Manager!

Big thanks to Allison Zygielbaum and Julia Hassanzadeh for helping support thank-you card making for the officers who have been supporting us these past couple of weeks—and to our students for the care and thought they put into each card!

Spout out to Lauren Mezrahi and Cristina Wynn for organizing PTA-sponsored BHES staff breakfasts and lunches over the past two weeks!

Big thanks to Laura Friedman for organizing the recess equipment! Thank you to all of the parents who have been serving as recess volunteers

Spout out to Anna Fleming for organizing the community coffee gathering with MCPS and MCPD staff on the blacktop this very morning!

And last, but never least, thank you so much to all of the wonderful BHES teachers and staff, each of whom has shown such dedication and grace over the past two weeks (and all other times too)!

THE PTA IS HERE FOR YOU

The BHES PTA is committed to promoting an enriching and supportive climate where all members of the BHES community feel safe, seen, and respected. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee works to advance this goal through educational resources, community conversations, in-school programming, and collaboration with school and county staff. Our focus this year is the Speak Up Strategies to empower our community, students and adults alike, to be upstanders in the face of hate and bias.

The PTA's DEI Committee welcomes input from all members of our community about how we collectively work to prevent and respond to hate-bias incidents within our community. If you are interested in sharing feedback, or joining the DEI Committee, please contact DEI Committee Co-Chairs Nausheen Noor and Kathleen Foster at klubey@gmail.com
