The Bradley Hills PTA is seeking several more volunteers to help support our students, teachers and school community in the next school year! Please see the specific openings below and contact any member of the Nominating Committee with questions or to express interest.

PTA VOLUNTEER OPENINGS

5th Grade Promotion (4th grade parent in 2026-27 school year) - Plans the reception after 5th grade promotion. Works with school staff to determine needed resources, purchase and set up decorations, food, water, etc. for the reception.

A to Z Communications & Directory - Works with room parents and teachers to create and update the BHES virtual school directory at the beginning of the school year. AtoZ Connect is the PTA's email network. This job can be done entirely from home.

Math Olympiad Coordinator(s) (4th or 5th grade parent in 2026-27 school year) - Sets the practice and contest schedule, coordinates with high school students who coach the team, administers and grades monthly contests, and supervises practice sessions. Coordinators do not have to be amazing at math! Teaching is done by high school students. Volunteers are needed to ensure this is a continued offering for 4th and 5th grade students.

Read-A-Thon - Organizes our annual Read-A-Thon program and fundraiser, for which students, teachers, and staff log reading minutes in teams in a school-wide competition. The Read-A-Thon promotes enthusiasm for reading and raises funds for literacy programs at Bradley Hills and its sister school, Weller Road Elementary School (December/January).

Spelling Bee - Organizes spelling bees for students in grades 4-5, first in the classroom and then at a school final spelling bee. The school winner competes at the regional Scripps Spelling Bee (January/February).

Whale Mart (5th grade parent in 2026-27 school year) - Organizes the wildly popular school store occurring periodically before school. Parent volunteers work with 5th grade volunteers to purchase items and set up and cover the store hours, providing the opportunity for them to plan and run a small business.

THE PTA IS HERE FOR YOU

The BHES PTA is committed to promoting an enriching and supportive climate where all members of the BHES community feel safe, seen, and respected. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee works to advance this goal through educational resources, community conversations, in-school programming, and collaboration with school and county staff. Our focus this year is the Speak Up Strategies to empower our community, students and adults alike, to be upstanders in the face of hate and bias.

The PTA's DEI Committee welcomes input from all members of our community about how we collectively work to prevent and respond to hate-bias incidents within our community. If you are interested in sharing feedback, or joining the DEI Committee, please contact DEI Committee Co-Chairs Nausheen Noor and Kathleen Foster at klubey@gmail.com
