Save the date for this year's BHES Skate Night at the Cabin John Ice Rink on Saturday December 3, 6:30-8:00pm! Ticket sales open at https://bhespta.membershiptoolkit.com/store/7743 through Dec 2nd. We're looking forward to a fun night on the ice with BHES families, teachers and staff!

Is your family new to Bradley Hills? Did you join the Bradley Hills community during the pandemic (2020-2022)? 

The Bradley Hills Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee wants to make sure you feel included and welcome! Now that the hecticness of back-to-school has subsided, let’s check in with each other before the winter gets too cold. This is an informal, social, kids-welcome event. 

Join us for light refreshments and holiday-season bites. Newcomer families all welcome. We’ll have some kid-friendly activities while adults mingle. Indoor and outdoor spaces available.

    Time: 2-4pm

GET READY FOR THE READ-A-THON (DEC 9-JAN 6)

A BHES community favorite is coming soon! This celebration of reading will begin December 9th and go on until January 6th. It’s FREE to participate! Parents - look out for an email containing instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. We are looking for one more volunteer to co-lead the event. Please contact Sari Wilde and Sogun Hong (BHESReadathon@gmail.com) if you are interested in volunteering.

LOST AND FOUND

Parents: The BHES Lost & Found is overflowing with jackets and water bottles! Please check the Lost & Found when you are at school for your Parent-Teacher Conference (or end of day pick up, morning drop off, or any other time!). The Lost & Found is located in the Multi-Purpose Room. Thank you!

BHES HONORS NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH

November is Native American Heritage Month! During the month of November, let’s honor, recognize, and acknowledge the Indigenous Peoples who continue to thrive in our country. 

Indigenous Peoples are still with us! Too often, in school and popular media, children learn that Native Americans are people from the past, part of history, almost ‘extinct’. This is especially true around the time of Thanksgiving. Contrary to these unfortunate messages, Native peoples are still alive and thriving, including in Maryland! Read more...

WHAT TIME IS IT? SCIENCE FAIR TIME!

Join us on Thursday, December 15 for the BHES Science Fair. Science fair project presentations will occur in 2 sessions:

    6:30-7:15pm for students in grades K-2  

    7:30-8:15pm for students in grades 3-5

How to participate:

1) Check out ScienceBuddies.org for project ideas by grade level and topics of interest.

2)Register your science fair project.

3) Apply the scientific method while you do your project.

4) Summarize your project on a tri-fold poster board.  Describe the Research Question, Background, Hypothesis, Materials & Methods, Results, and Conclusion.  

5) Practice telling people about your project.

6) Present your project at the Science Fair on Dec. 15.

Amazon Smile when Amazon Shopping: There are three easy ways to earn money for BHES while shopping on Amazon. 1. Click through to Amazon at www.bhespta.com. 2.
