Parents: The BHES Lost & Found is overflowing with jackets and water bottles! Please check the Lost & Found whenever you are at school -- end of day pick up, morning drop off, or any other time! The Lost & Found is located in the Multi-Purpose Room. Thank you!

GET READY FOR THE READ-A-THON (DEC 9-JAN 6)

A BHES community favorite is coming soon! This celebration of reading will begin December 9th and go on until January 6th. It’s FREE to participate! Parents - look out for an email containing instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. We are looking for one more volunteer to co-lead the event. BHES COMMUNITY SERVICE HOLIDAY GIVING

The PTA Community Service Committee works closely with Weller Road staff to identify ways in which to support our Title 1 Sister school. Weller Road expressed a need for warm clothing donations as well as gift cards. We invite you to make donations to support Weller Road students and families in need.

Warm Clothing Drive - Nov 29-Dec 11

• We accept new and gently used donations. All clothes should be clean and in excellent condition.
• Sweatshirts, hoodies, long-sleeve shirts, leggings, sweatpants, brand new socks, and brand new underwear are particularly needed.
• All sizes are accepted, including adult sizes. 
• Please drop off donations in water-proof bags in bins at the front entrance of BHES.

Gift Card Drive -ongoing through December 20th - Online/digital cards only.  

To participate, send digital $25 Giant or Target gift cards to Miriam Romero, Parent Community Coordinator at Weller Road: miriam_romero@mc psmd.org. 

Please ONLY send $25 gift cards to ensure that families receive the same card amount. You may purchase multiple cards, but each must be for a $25 value. Cards will be provided to families to purchase food, clothing, and gifts for the holidays.

WHAT TIME IS IT? SCIENCE FAIR TIME!

Join us on Thursday, December 15 for the BHES Science Fair. Science fair project presentations will occur in 2 sessions:

    6:30-7:15pm for students in grades K-2  

    7:30-8:15pm for students in grades 3-5

How to participate:

1) Check out ScienceBuddies.org for project ideas by grade level and topics of interest.

2)Register your science fair project.

3) Apply the scientific method while you do your project.

4) Summarize your project on a tri-fold poster board.  Describe the Research Question, Background, Hypothesis, Materials & Methods, Results, and Conclusion.  

5) Practice telling people about your project.

6) Present your project at the Science Fair on Dec. 15.
