CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
March is Women's History Month and is a time to celebrate and recognize the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. There are many ways to celebrate this month with your kids. Here are some resources offered by MCPS. You can also consider attending some of the events listed here or here, or read some of the books suggested here.

ONLINE MCPS PARENT WORKSHOP (MARCH 13 AND 20)
There will be a two-part parent workshop on The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families on March 13 and March 20 at 6:00-7:00pm.

MARCH BIRTHDAY BASH (MARCH 17, 2:30-3:00PM, the APR)
Friday, March 17th, we will hold the March Birthday Bash! Students with MARCH birthdays will come to the APR from 2:30 pm - 3 pm on Friday to enjoy cupcakes and Birthday Bingo!
We will need 8 volunteers/parents to help us set-up and clean up the Birthday Bash from 2:00 pm to 3:25 pm in the APR. All Bash supplies are provided by the PTA. If your child has a March birthday and you have completed the volunteer requirements, please sign up here to volunteer.
Allergy Reminder: Giant Bakery cupcakes and Goldfish crackers are served for the snack at the Birthday Bash. The cupcakes are nut-free. If your child has an allergy of concern PLEASE send them with a snack to enjoy at the Bash. We are very happy to make them a plate!!
LISTENING SESSION FOR WHITMAN CLUSTER PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF BLACK STUDENTS (MARCH 23)
Please join Principal Caroscio and other Whitman Cluster Principals for a virtual listening session with parents/guardians of Whitman Cluster Black students on Thursday, March 23rd (7pm-8:30pm ET). This session will be facilitated by Maniya Jules of the MCPS Equity Unit and give parents an opportunity to share their general perspectives on school culture and academics, particularly as they relate to MCPS' ongoing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. BHES will be putting on its annual variety show on April 29, 2023. It’s the highlight of the year for our community and tons of fun!

There are virtual workshops available to parents in MCPS. Some are specific to our students with IEPs and some are more generalized. SAVE THE DATE FOR BRADLEY BEAUTIFUL (APRIL 23 2-5PM)
Bradley Beautiful will be held this year on Sunday April 23rd from 2 to 5 pm. Similar to last year, the Green Team will lead a beautification project at the school that is open to all students and families and we will celebrate Earth Day with environmentally-focused activities and food vendors. More details to follow!
