BHES CELEBRATES ASIAN AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDER MONTH

May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Tomorrow, May 8th, we will have a special Cultural Arts Assembly. Our students will enjoy a dance performance by Rhythmaya Dance Company where they will be exposed to Bollywood and Kathak Dance styles from India. 

Many of our Bradley Hills families identify as Asian American or Pacific Islander. In fact, at Heritage Night on February 23rd, we had 11 tables hosted by families that represented nations, cultures, and religions from Asia and the Pacific. Read more...

BHES ART SHOW - SUBMIT WORK THIS WEEK

Students may drop off their artwork for the BHES Art Show this week - Wed through Friday, May 10 - 12, from 8:45 - 9:00am in the APR. 

The BHES Art Show is coming up on Thursday, May 18 from 7 - 8pm in the APR!! All BHES students are encouraged to submit up to two pieces in any media - Painting - Drawing - Sculpture - Photography.

POPULAR CULTURE AND HATE: UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOUR STUDENT IS EXPOSED TO IN SOCIETY TODAY (7-8:30PM: MAY 10 (ENGLISH), MAY 31 (SPANISH))

This information session for parents is hosted by MCPS and will be led by Liza Wiemer, author of The Assignment. It will focus on helping parents and caregivers understand how hate is spreading through popular culture, gaming and social media, ways in which hate speech and acts are used in schools, and how parents and caregivers can help their students identify and stand against hate speech. 7 PM - 8:30 PM
